A Quick Hi

It's been a while!

Stopping in to say a quick hello, since it's 12.... AM.....Yep, sad I know. (Sometimes the only free time you get is in the wee hours of the night when a baby is concerned.) Trying to decide what to post I realize I haven't posted my Avie in a while. We've hit a milestone. She's officially too big for her bassinet. Today Daddy and I put together her crib. She's almost 9 months...crazy! So here's a few pictures of my girl. :)

One of my favorites...LOL!

With cousin Bryce...cuties!

Drying off after a dip in the river.

Little chunker, at the lake with Grammy, Momma, and cousin Whitney.

She's awesome. Such a blessing!
Thanks for stopping by.
(Time for this Momma to go to bed!...hehehe)

Shed a Little Light-(Project Livingroom)

I've decided it's time to update our living room. Give it a makeover! It's currently too dark and really needs to be mixed with more modern pieces. I've know this for a while but had so much going on with Avie that I'm just now deciding to make time and do it. Especially since we're trying to move back towards where we grew up, to be closer to family and my hubby's job. The changes will be good for us being that we spend a lot of time in the living room, and also good for buyers to see that it can be light and current. It's an old house and since our price range will most likely appeal to first-time home buyers I want it to be as appealing as possible.

Now comes budget. It will be a small one. Not only because I'm a stay-home mom but because I love the challenge of finding pieces to re-purpose and to use what we already have.

Our house is north facing, making for a lack of natural light. All of our windows seem to also face north or south. The whole east end is a non-insulated raw storage type area where we keep our tools and such and is completely closed off from the downstairs (Making for no eastern light either...). So needless to say its a bit dark.

Step one: Bring in some light with soft grays, whites, and neutrals.

I've looked a little on Pinterest this morning and have added lots of inspiration photos to my Project Livingroom board. Here's a look at some of my favorites.

I looove this color pallete, especially Silver Drop!

I love the light beachy feel, and we have a large mantel in the center as well, though our room is long and thin, not open like this. Our mantel, the built-in cabinets, and floor boards/trim are white.

I love the texture of the rug and again the beachy accents. I also love the dark gray paint in the shelves. We have a lot of shelves and this may be a perfect option.

I love the sectional and I have a few wooden boxes that will bring a similar feel.

I love this sectional as well...and the darker tone. Fun rug and throws.

I really want to do a photo collage similar to this.

I love the ombre artwork, a great and simple way to update the room. I'm also a HUGE fan of white shades.

We'll see how things unfold.

First things first, I need to CLEAN the livingroom and get it ready to clear out and paint.

I'll keep you posted. May be a long project with Avie and all but it's definitely time for me to make the start.

Happy fourth!! I hope you're enjoying time with friends and family.

The Ocean is Calling

So my hubby and I were browsing through the free movie section on demand the other night and I see Message in a Bottle.... I was like "Ohh!!! Please?" Of course the response was "No way, watch it when I'm not here"...LOL!! If you've never seen it, it's one of those must-sees for sure. Such a sweet love story, sappy and unrealistic of course, but cute to watch. But my main draw to it, besides the soundtrack that I used to own and listen to often, is the beautiful location. He lives right on the water in the Carolinas and everything about the movie scenery is sooo perfect.

If you have yet to see it....Watch it!! I highly recommend it!

While I love the tropical beaches in Florida and the crystal clear water there, I am most drawn to the (cold) Maine coastal shores, Bar Harbor and Bass Harbor being my favorites. I love the rustic feel and woodsy landscape. So I took a little virtual ocean trip via Pinterest, since I can't very well go to the ocean right away.

The best part? I can share it! Enjoy :)

I hope you've had a wonderful weekend.
I'm trying to get back in the swing of things over in the shop. I sold quite a bit at the bazaar and am working on restocking! :) Stay tuned for a sneak peak!

Thank you for stopping by!

More Vintage Bazaar Photos

Here's some photos my hubby took as I was setting up. Excuse the bad lighting :).
It was only 5 or 6 am!

(After I realized my camera was on "florescent light" setting...)

Here's a quick look at the rest of the festival. I wish I had taken better photos as it was really amazing to see other shops and such creative work, however getting away from my own shop was hard to do, especially with Avie. :(

My Bazaar Experience

It was a great weekend at the Vintage Bazaar. Extremely HOT weather, but a really nice time. Here I am at the tent, my friend Jess visiting and taking a picture.

It was such a blast setting up and sharing my style with fellow vintage seekers. Saturday morning "Early Birds" were incredible, buzzing around getting all the goods before the big crowds came through. I saw soo many adorable children, making me miss my little Avie who was travelling around with Daddy, trying to stay cool. The predicted rain passed us by, thankfully, though the humidity did not. Sunday proved to be a little slower going than the rushy Saturday. Over all a great experience.

More photos to come, I just need to clean my things out of the truck... :) Including my camera.
That's the one downer...the after clean up and unloading. LOL...well worth it!

The Vintage Bazaar Countdown

I'm getting so excited for the Vintage Bazaar! Not only because I have some beautiful things for the shop but because I can't wait to be out on a summer day with lots of new people, live music and bustling activity going on. There's nothing like festive events on a summer day. And this is two days...Can't wait!

Devon Allen, the creator and director behind the bazaar, has been updating everyone along the way. I'm LOVING the flyers, signs, and ads for the event.

A beautifully done map of  the grounds! (I was shocked to see that when I went a couple years ago I only walked around the front field and garden. I didn't realize it went all the way back to more fields....we were just stopping in to see what all the action was and didn't see the half of it!)

Fun!

Devon's blog is a great place to browse and see vendors ahead of time.

Time for me to head upstairs and do a little inventory work. I'll be getting in one more hunt this weekend before the show, so I need to figure out just what I still need!! :)

Hope to see you at the show!
Amy

PS: From facebook..

"Did y'all hear? HGTV's Cari Cucksey from Cash & Cari and RePurpose will be at the June Bazaar....trekking all the way from Michigan. They will set up in Strawberry Field and so much more. Come meet Cari in person...she is a doll (super talented and super nice)."

Driftwood

I loooove driftwood! It's so beachy and has such a great story; drifting in water, sun bathed to a beautiful hue.
I've been collecting some from a nearby spot to craft into fun things for the vintage bazaar. After searching pinterest for inspiration I couldn't resist. Just look at these super fun ideas!

(gorgeous chandelier!)

We'll see what my collection ends up as. I have beach on the brain!
I just had a girl's night this weekend at the beach and it's amazing
what a little sea water and sun does for a girl. :)

Happy June!!
