Delish!

Fall Looks

I have to say...I'm so looking forward to Fall! I know, I was just whining for Summer to come...Lol. But there is something sooo warm and inviting when Autumn starts to come into view. Maybe that's how it was designed. It lures you in.

One thing that's great of course is Fall clothes.. You can start layering, playing with fun textures and color. And boots.... my favorite... So while I'm still loving Summer and the sun and all it entails, I'm just taking a little peek into Fall.

Love love love this outfit. So perfect.

I always love socks and boots with tights/leggings!

I know, you might think "ugh" but there's something I like about this look. I can't quite decide why and I'm not sure I'd actually do it myself but I just like it.  Hm. :)

Just love these pants with the boots. Kinda edgy.

Cuuute mary jane pumps. Great mix of neutrals!

I'd have to call it sloppy-chic.... but I love the effortless look.

Straight forward and together.

I'm in looove with this sweater/jacket/thing. And what a fun color boot.

I'm thinking I like the look of a more shapeless jacket like this one. A little update from the fitted ones.

Then there's jewelry...

Why not layer that as well??!

And nails...

Love the emerald shade (8)

And hair. I'm ready to go a bit darker and am going to try the ombre look.
Something like this....

I've been growing my hair out just to try it... this way I can cut it if it looks funny. ;)

Overall I just love clothes. So any excuse to play with them and try new looks is always exciting.

Thanks for stopping.

Living Room Update

I posted a couple weeks ago the plan to repaint and decorate our living room. Since, I've visited our local paint store for color ideas and grabbed a whole bunch of samples. They've been hanging on the wall and after a lot of sitting and staring, ;), I've decided on the color. (As well as the colors for the hallway and kitchen, other future projects.)

Here were the options...

And here's the one I chose..

Winter White. While I like the other shades I found I really wanted a straight up gray. Not a tinted gray like a yellowish-gray or a pinkish-gray. This one is very light and subtle. Since the room can be dark I want it to brighten it up so I was drawn to the lightest shade on the card.

It was a toss up between this and the Sebring White and though it's sooo hard to tell here, let alone in person, that there's even a difference the Sebring is a greenish-tint and I'm SO done with greens in the living room. As you can see it's an olive-ish color now (called River Reed) and though I do love the color, I'm sick of looking at it in this space. Bring in some LIGHT!

So far I've taken down all the paintings and decor. Just have to purchase the paint and clean the walls to start. Can't wait. I think it'll make a world of difference.

Here's my idea of the overall color palette and textured feel..

I've started by "shopping" my home for things to bring in. I have lovely ikat material in a sandy color scheme that I'll be using for pillows, two wicker ottoman/seats, and a BEAUTIFUL large white lamp that I bought a while back at a tag sale that I've been dying to use for more than just a storage room light.
(It was $2!!!....wait till you see it!)
I also have a collection of vintage gold frames that I had found for the shop but just may "steal" for our room instead! I'm loving this look...

and want to do something similar so I think I'll have to keep 'em!
So there's an update.
And now just a few family photos, because the moments are too good not to share.

Isn't this incredible? The moon was so big! It was such a sweet night. Just imagine singing birds, bugs chirping, and the slightest breeze. Cheesy? Yes. But true!

My hair is a hot mess but look how cuuuute she is all snuggly.

And this one's a new favorite! She LOVED swimming in the lake. My little mermaid!

A Quick Hi

It's been a while!

Stopping in to say a quick hello, since it's 12.... AM.....Yep, sad I know. (Sometimes the only free time you get is in the wee hours of the night when a baby is concerned.) Trying to decide what to post I realize I haven't posted my Avie in a while. We've hit a milestone. She's officially too big for her bassinet. Today Daddy and I put together her crib. She's almost 9 months...crazy! So here's a few pictures of my girl. :)

One of my favorites...LOL!

With cousin Bryce...cuties!

Drying off after a dip in the river.

Little chunker, at the lake with Grammy, Momma, and cousin Whitney.

She's awesome. Such a blessing!
Thanks for stopping by.
(Time for this Momma to go to bed!...hehehe)

Shed a Little Light-(Project Livingroom)

I've decided it's time to update our living room. Give it a makeover! It's currently too dark and really needs to be mixed with more modern pieces. I've know this for a while but had so much going on with Avie that I'm just now deciding to make time and do it. Especially since we're trying to move back towards where we grew up, to be closer to family and my hubby's job. The changes will be good for us being that we spend a lot of time in the living room, and also good for buyers to see that it can be light and current. It's an old house and since our price range will most likely appeal to first-time home buyers I want it to be as appealing as possible.

Now comes budget. It will be a small one. Not only because I'm a stay-home mom but because I love the challenge of finding pieces to re-purpose and to use what we already have.

Our house is north facing, making for a lack of natural light. All of our windows seem to also face north or south. The whole east end is a non-insulated raw storage type area where we keep our tools and such and is completely closed off from the downstairs (Making for no eastern light either...). So needless to say its a bit dark.

Step one: Bring in some light with soft grays, whites, and neutrals.

I've looked a little on Pinterest this morning and have added lots of inspiration photos to my Project Livingroom board. Here's a look at some of my favorites.

I looove this color pallete, especially Silver Drop!

I love the light beachy feel, and we have a large mantel in the center as well, though our room is long and thin, not open like this. Our mantel, the built-in cabinets, and floor boards/trim are white.

I love the texture of the rug and again the beachy accents. I also love the dark gray paint in the shelves. We have a lot of shelves and this may be a perfect option.

I love the sectional and I have a few wooden boxes that will bring a similar feel.

I love this sectional as well...and the darker tone. Fun rug and throws.

I really want to do a photo collage similar to this.

I love the ombre artwork, a great and simple way to update the room. I'm also a HUGE fan of white shades.

We'll see how things unfold.

First things first, I need to CLEAN the livingroom and get it ready to clear out and paint.

I'll keep you posted. May be a long project with Avie and all but it's definitely time for me to make the start.

Happy fourth!! I hope you're enjoying time with friends and family.

The Ocean is Calling

So my hubby and I were browsing through the free movie section on demand the other night and I see Message in a Bottle.... I was like "Ohh!!! Please?" Of course the response was "No way, watch it when I'm not here"...LOL!! If you've never seen it, it's one of those must-sees for sure. Such a sweet love story, sappy and unrealistic of course, but cute to watch. But my main draw to it, besides the soundtrack that I used to own and listen to often, is the beautiful location. He lives right on the water in the Carolinas and everything about the movie scenery is sooo perfect.

If you have yet to see it....Watch it!! I highly recommend it!

While I love the tropical beaches in Florida and the crystal clear water there, I am most drawn to the (cold) Maine coastal shores, Bar Harbor and Bass Harbor being my favorites. I love the rustic feel and woodsy landscape. So I took a little virtual ocean trip via Pinterest, since I can't very well go to the ocean right away.

The best part? I can share it! Enjoy :)

I hope you've had a wonderful weekend.
I'm trying to get back in the swing of things over in the shop. I sold quite a bit at the bazaar and am working on restocking! :) Stay tuned for a sneak peak!

Thank you for stopping by!
