Armoire Makeover

I have this armoire that my husband and I picked up at a thrift shop for about $30 a few years ago. Its pretty basic and served its purpose in our laundry room. But now...I'm itchin' to paint it! Its a darker wood color and while I do like that look, I want to go white! And add some extra touches. Just not sure what yet. I've browsed for some inspiration. Take a look at some of these great examples!

And my favorite...

I also came across these wonderful DIY makeovers...

So fun! I can't wait till the snow melts, the sun is warm, and I can bring my armoire outside to show it some love!

  1. Oh how fun that's going to be! I have an armoire that I've had for many years, it was pine and looking sort of 90's but it was well made and solid. I bought some appliques from a site called Do it yourself Chic, glued them and painted it white. I also added glass knobs and decoupaged toile fabric on the inside...it looks so much better now! I know everyone's using that Annie Sloane chalk paint these days but it's really expensive so I just buy the cheap stuff at Home Depot:)

I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!

  2. You're awesome! That sounds so great! I'm really thinking a pic is in order :)!
We'll see what happens when I figure out just what to do.
It's deciding on one thing that's hard, as I love so many colors and designs.
I'll be sure to post it!
    Thanks :)

  4. I love the first, black armoire! And funny, but I liked the armoire from The Clever Chic better in its rusticness before she painted it. Furniture makeovers are about as fun as seeing people makeovers! Excited to see what yours turns out like, friend. :)
